In a heartwarming workshop filled with smiles and the delicious aroma of traditional Ukrainian food, 4th grade students from a school in Poltava had the chance to make and enjoy galushki—Ukraine’s beloved dumplings.
The event was organized as a part of a broader effort to help children deal with the emotional stress caused by the ongoing war. While the conflict has disrupted many aspects of daily life, moments like this bring light, joy, and a sense of normalcy back into the lives of young Ukrainians.

With flour on their hands and curiosity in their eyes, the children learned to prepare galushki from scratch, mixing ingredients, shaping the dough, and finally tasting the warm, comforting dish they had made themselves. It wasn’t just about cooking—it was about connection, heritage, and healing.
Thanks to the generous donors and supporters of LifeUA, this workshop was made possible. LifeUA continues to bring essential aid and psychological relief to families affected by the war. Events like this one remind us that sometimes, even the smallest acts—like making dumplings—can bring the biggest smiles.
From the children, parents, and the entire LifeUA team:
Thank you to everyone who believes in hope, supports our mission, and helps us bring joy and relief to Ukrainian children.
Together, we make life a little brighter.
